My Writing Process Now In College

My writing process now as greatly advanced since high school. I have developed better sentence fluency and my vocabulary has expanded greatly now that I’m in college. Developing a better vocabulary has allowed me to write formal essays in the correct style. One thing that has been extremely helpful in writing essays is learning how to properly quote sentences in every situation. This includes from a book, website, public speaker, and a book. In high school I learned how to do cite quotes, but I did not know all the specific rules for citing. In the past my quotes have been run-ons or that didn’t have the correct structure, but now I know how to do it correctly. Also, in the past I did not do any prewriting for an essay. Now that I’m in college I have learned that prewriting is very helpful, especially for lengthy papers. There are a number of different prewriting styles, so it’s easy to find one that works for you. It helps organize the essay and it takes less time to actually write the essay.
